ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Christian Classics
Christian Classics focuses on reading Christian writings from older works to contemporary. A basic working knowledge of the Bible is recommended.

AM Class
AM Class is a combination Bible study, social/church issues/Christian life.

Friendship Class
Friendship Class concentrates on adult Bible studies based on the International Lesson Series.

Family Spirit
Family Spirit covers both Bible study and contemporary family issues.

Outreach
Outreach is a study of selected New Testament books.

New Spirit
New Spirit examines both the Bible and contemporary topics.

Revelation of God
Revelation of God is a comprehensive Bible study of the Old and New Testaments.

Bethel Bible Study
Bethel Bible Study deals with God's plan of salvation through the Old and New Testaments.

Journey Through The Bible
Journey Through The Bible studies how the bible came into its present form, plus themes from the Old Testament.

Bible 101
Bible 101 is an introductory survey of the Bible.

Foundations
Foundations is a Sunday school class specifically developed for young adults.


ADDITIONAL GROUPS

St. John’s offers additional fellowship opportunities for you to connect with God, self and others. Family Heritage Group, Quilting, Ladies’ Book Club, Men’s Devotional Group, Church Bowling League, Prime Time Singles, Not Ready for Prime Time, The Heavens Are Telling, Jolly Elders, Needle Arts Group, Social Bridge, People of Leisure and Others (POLO) and Adult Volleyball are some of the active groups at our church.

SEASONAL, SHORT-TERM & OTHER CLASSES
Throughout the year St. John’s offers several seasonal and short-term classes. These classes include a variety of special Bible studies, parent confirmation class,
personal growth classes, as well as Lenten and Advent classes. Please contact Rev. Clyde Stanfield for information on upcoming classes.

United Methodist Women (UMW)
A community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Prayer Groups
Men’s Prayer Group
Meets every other Tuesday in Room 241 at 7:00am

Prayer Chain & Prayer Board
The Prayer Chain embodies five groups that pray for those who request prayers for themselves or others. The Prayer Board is displayed in the church office and serves as a way of informing the congregation of those in need of special prayers. Upper Room Devotionals
Upper Room Devotionals are available for purchase in the
SonShine Café for a nominal fee.

Walk to Emmaus

The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The Walk to Emmaus experience begins with a 72-hour short course in Christianity. During and after the three days, participants are encouraged to meet regularly in small groups to challenge and support one another in faithful living.
